Our office has been selected as a 2024 host office for the U.S. Court’s Defender Services Non-Capital Fellowship Program. The goal of the program is to enhance the quality of representation provided to defender clients by increasing the diversity of the attorneys who provide representation to them. The fellowship creates a pathway for new or recent law school graduates to join 12 federal defender organizations with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion where they will receive extensive training, mentoring and litigation experience. Once the fellows are selected and matched with host offices, they will begin their two-year fellowships in September, 2024. Our office is now preparing to welcome a fellow, including developing an enhanced onboarding and mentoring plan, and we look forward to benefiting from the experience and skills the fellow will share with us.
